When Quentin was two years old his family moved to South Los Angeles where he grew up. From an early age his mother took him to the theatre where he fell in love with cinema and went to movies theater every change he got. When Quentin was 22 he got a job at Video Archives in Manhatten Beach, CA where he & Roger Avery spent their time watching and discussing videos. In 1986 he made his first, unfinished film "My Best Friend's Birthday", then in 1987 he wrote his first script, "True Romance". He followd that up by writing his second script, "Natural Born Killers", in 1988. In 1989 he sold the "True Romance" script for $50,000 and used the money to make his third script, "Reservoir Dogs", on 16mm black & white. Harvey Keitel saw the script and was so impressed by it that he raised money, acted in the film and helped Quentin cast the main roles. "Reservoir Dogs" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1992 and Miramax picked the film up for distribution where it was released in the US, Also in 1992 Quentin began writing his next script, "Pulp Fiction", which won the Palm D'Or at Cannes in 1994 and was released in the US on Oct. 14, 1994. It grossed over 100 million dollars and picked up Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Actress and won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Quentin then went on to co-write & co-direct "Four Rooms" and an episode of "ER". Quentin's last film, "Jackie Brown", achieved great success and was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress (Pam Grier) and Best Actor (Samuel L. Jackson).
